I recently had a cyst removed from my spine. Prior to surgery I was in constant pain, medication was unable to give me any relief. I was bedridden for almost 4. months. I’m a 41 year old woman with osteoarthritis in my lower spine which was causing instability, synovial cysts, and stenosis. After 5 months of intense pain in my right buttock and hamstring which stopped me from doing a lot of things I was referred to Doctor Byrne who explained to me that I had a bulged disc pinching the spinal nerve at L5/S1 and would need a lumbar microdiscectomy, he explained to me fully what was involved and any problems that could occur.
