I loved doing business with sun set marine. Mr. David and staff are very knowledgeable and stand behind their work. I drive an hour and pass four other shops to use them. They are easy to talk to and are very nice and respectful people. This shop is my go to for all of my boat needs.
RecommendedI have used Sunset Marine twice now and their service and knowledge of their skill is above expectations. I would strongly recommend them.
We brought our boat with a Suzuki motor in to have the prop shaft straightened and replace a damaged propeller. The used propeller they installed was a Quicksilver that was too small. We also requested the water pump to be replaced. The boat still ran hot so we took it to another shop. They said the replacement water pump was used and so brittle that it was falling apart.
My husband and I have used Sunset Marine for purchasing needed parts and boat repairs. David, Terri, and Ben provide quality service for a reasonable price. They work with you to get your boat ready to be back on the water quickly and save you a little money too. They provide honest and friendly service. David, Terri, and Ben stand behind their work. I just really appreciate David and his wife answering a lot of questions over the years. They have a lot of used parts too. I recently had a repair done and it was less expensive than I thought!
I took my pontoon boat with a 115hp mercury there last week. They had me all fixed up and much cheaper than I expected! It seems these days that people just want to charge you as much as they can get away with and not actually do the work, not at Sunset Marine. I had the lower cowling off as I was working on it before I gave up and let the professionals do it. They didn't have to but put the entire cowling on so I could give it a test run as soon as I picked it up! Thanks again, you all are awesome!
Most helpful "Marine repair & service owners" we've found since relocating to P'cola 14 yrs ago. We've had 23' Grady White and 17' Boston Whaler and anybody who's ever been a boat owner knows .... there's always a need for "repairs". Sunset Marine... GOOD people who know watercraft engines!
I have found David and his wife Terri, and their son, (owners) to be lovely people who care deeply for their customers. I’ve had many things fixed or installed at Sunset Marine and their work is always comprehensive and reliable. I’ve used Sunset since moving to Pensacola 6 years ago and they’ve worked on three different boats of mine. Now, if anyone thinks any type of marine work is going to be cheap, you need to find another hobby than boating! But comparatively, they are competitive and they stand behind their work.
I took my boat to Sunset Marine a.k.a. Outboard Salvage for a simple check up and got my boat back unusable. The water gauge doesn't work now. Oil now leaks badly down from motor and onto prop. I wasn't having problems with tilt at all and they tell me a relay needs changed, they probably left the battery on, the other relay came back to me with a melted case.
