Earlier this year, a new director started. She is more interested in how she looks then what the building looks like and how BAD the care is. It's falling apart. LOADS of employees have left, families are very unhappy and the care is less then adequate. The locked down Alzheimer's floor has a director that sits in her full size office all day and now they made another room just for the staff to sit in and do nothing. My aunt was at Brighton Gardens for about 3 1/2 years. I love this place!! I was always able to talk with the staff to see how she was doing since I live out of town. Whenever we had issues with her, I could get things worked out with the wonderful care manager, Destiny. Nathan, the director has been great to work with and runs a top notch facility. My aunt had great care and when needed, the nurses cared for her in a very compassionate way. Sadly, she passed away--but, I felt like they considered her part of the family and ... read more
Great Staff, but some problems – My parents were here for about 5 years until their recent deaths. A complete review would take a book. In short: THE STAFF: The individual caregivers are great. Really caring people who go out of their way to help the tenants. They face a difficult situation and do it with humor, dignity, and concern. You will love them. great staff – The folks at Sunrise did a great job taking care of a loved one. They were kind and considerate and even went out of their way to make it feel like a family setting.
Excellent Facility – Our 93-year-old mother has lived at Brighton Gardens for 3 years. I visit almost daily and see the way staff responds to Mom and to other residents. The staff is always positive, caring and helpful. Staff members know all residents by name and speak to them (with a smile). They give Mom all her medications, start her in the shower, put out clothes for her to wear, remind her about grooming tasks, and remain patient no matter how difficult she becomes. Great Place – Ok all of these reviews are bogus I have the inside scoop as I am a former employee (Heather Myers). I have worked at several assisted living Communities and Brighton Gardens by far is the best possibly in THE WORLD. I worked there and you will not find a better group of cna's nurses etc. I cant wait to go back to work for Brighton Gardens because that is the only place where I can say i have experienced that the residents truely are number 1.
Best Assisted Living In Winston Salem! – Anybody who has been to brighton gardens in winston knows its nothing like these reviews! Mark Mitchell is a great ED! Bad Smelling Rooms, Medical Info shared with all, no backup - against the law????? – Management is the problem here. Sad because this could be a nice facility. Mark Mitchell, the exec executive director is the reason for lousy reputation. Of course, he is just following in the footsteps of Sunrise as none of them return your calls.
