Several assisted living facilities in the area seemed "nice enough," but when we toured Sunrise of Cary, we knew we had found a place for my parents. From the very start, the tour was excellent. We saw the lovely room that was available and met the Care Director, Activities Director, and Executive Director. My mother's Rolex watch and gold bangle bracelet gone missing. Tried to bring them home but she had a fit. Asked staff on 3rd floor to try to get them and put in safe. Going to administration to try to put in insurance claim. As if we don't have enough problems. Think this is a terrible circumstance.

These people charge about a couple of thousand per room. They seek perfection but do not truely appreciate great work. They are liers to get ahead and under staffed with cna's because of the constant firing they are accostumed to. Including some residents are mal- spoken to behind the scenes especially by the activity carribean coordinator, which i felt bad about one time having it done in front of me. Earlier this year, a new director started. She is more interested in how she looks then what the building looks like and how BAD the care is. It's falling apart. LOADS of employees have left, families are very unhappy and the care is less then adequate. The locked down Alzheimer's floor has a director that sits in her full size office all day and now they made another room just for the staff to sit in and do nothing. My mother is in the memory care floor, we are not happy with the care she has been given in the 9 months she has been there. There was an attempt to sedate her on a daily basis to make it easier to care for her. She was then sent to the ER by ambulance because she OD on the sedatives. She is on the wait list for Arden Court.

WAY overpriced, staff acts like this is their first job. you have to keep an eagle eye on this place and be your friend/relative's eyes, ears, and mouth. They just tell you a lot of fluff, but never deliver.
I beg to differ on the first review posted on here. We were extremely pleased with the care at Sunrise of Raleigh. They seemed to really love my Granddad and we even had some of the care providers attend his funeral when he passed away. He always seemed very happy and well taken care of. I would highly recommend them!!
