A big thank you to all the healthcare providers at Sunnybrook who took care of me after my open surgery. A big shout out to all the lovely nurses who kept a kind friendly face even when I was nasty and in pain. A special thanks to Zoe, the best nurse in the world. She never forced me to do the things I didn't like, like blood work and painful ultrasounds over my incision, but she talked to me gently and convinced me how they were helpful. Did not have a good experience with the Oncologist's here.
My beloved father was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma and passed away in April as he sadly succumbed to his disease. The doctors delayed his chemo for 3 months knowing his condition. Even when he didn’t have an infection they wouldn’t go through with his chemo. We were always just brushed off by having stunts put in 5 times. Now you tell me when you’re just placing stunts and not looking at the next steps knowing a patients condition is so severe where will that leave him to? If chemo was possible then why make him so weak... read more
My experience at Odette from the blood dept nurses to the chemo nurses & receptionist area personnel & pharmacy area was been amazing!!! I find all the nurses I have met have been professional, knowledgeable, friendly, caring & show empathy!!!! When you are going thru this very unpleasant cancer experience it makes a huge difference when your care is handled by a staff that care & really try to make your experience easier!
