A passable pub – The Sundown is, admittedly, the only real pub-like atmosphere in Ruston. It has a dark room with a pool table, dart boards, and a couple of televisions along with the bar. There's also a more well-lit dining area for the casual lunch-crowd, and an outside patio that's actually very nice when it's not too hot. Ruston is a small town where locals like to gather in small groups. Sundown is hands-down the greatest hole-in-the-wall bar I have ever been to. I went to college in Ruston and other bars came and went, but Sundown always stayed the same. Great place to watch games, play pool, or have the best "hot roast beef and jalapeno cheese po-boy" on the planet. No sport is as competetive as the locals playing along with Jeorpardy on Friday afternoons at Sundown. I'm sure their profits have gone down since Big Ed stopped drinking, but ... read more
