Sunderland Literacy Aid provides fantastic support to people in the local community - enhancing literacy and employment skills, and offering donations to those in need. My time as a volunteer with the organisation last year was so enjoyable and rewarding. If anybody is looking for a fun and impactful volunteering opportunity, I would strongly recommend that they get in touch!

Sunderland Literally Aid is a fantastic organisation which highly benefits the local community by providing educational support and aid as well as helping the environment by saving pre-loved items and books from landfill. They also provide valuable support to local authors to help get their books published. I have worked with Sunderland Literacy Aid several times over the past few years as a freelance illustrator and have had an amazing experience.

I help the team at Sunderland Literacy Aid to provide shared reading and reminiscence activities/workshops to people in Sunderland based care homes. As a psychology graduate, I can recognise the mental health benefits for those who attend our weekly sessions. This is definitely a worthy cause and I would encourage people to consider getting involved in any way they can.
