Thank you Brett and Sun Valley Farm for the personalized and hands-on visit with your sweet mamas and babies. My grand daughters 5 and 7 along with the adults were entranced with the stories and facts and absolutely loved the hugs, kisses and nuzzles from the foals and their mamas. Getting to know the horses, their histories and personalities was an experience we will always cherish. This family owned farm is truly a gem and an excellent example of Kentucky Bluegrass pride. Brett shared his extensive knowledge with humor a... read more
We had a wonderful time touring the farm and meeting the foals (and the barn kitties!). The scenery was beautiful and the tour was interesting and informative. Jan at the end was especially helpful answering all our questions, and overall we had a terrific time. Highly recommended for anyone interested in learning more about Kentucky's horse history!
I’m local to Lexington and came to Sun Valley for the first time this week to show out-of-town friends a horse farm. We were all enchanted by our experience! It was such a treat to meet so many mamas and foals and to learn so much from Brett. This tour was extremely informative and not physically taxing as you drive through much of the farm rather than walk. We paired it with a tour of nearby Woodford Reserve for an excellent Kentucky day. Thanks again, Jan & Brett!
Don't miss this fantastic tour! This is a family owned farm run daily by hands-on family members who truly love their mares and foals. The tour was given by Brett, the owner's son, and he was amazing, personable, shared his knowledge of horses and the history of the farm and the old farmhouse built in 1833. We were able to touch the mares and foals and get up close and personal with them as we watched them being led out to pasture in the afternoon. This is a truly beautiful farm in the middle of the most beautiful Bluegr... read more
Let me tell you why I love Sun Valley Farm…We were greeted with a smile, a hug, and “ it’s great to see you again” by Brett. Then he whisked us off to see our share babies, a filly and a colt, in the field behind the old Pepper home-place. We spent a while with them then headed to see the other weanlings where my favorite little filly BoBo out of Bodaciousness by Mitole was in the field with her friends. We had a great time loving on all of the babies and even the mare who was babysitting. Then we chatted with the bosses, Ja... read more
