It's a good sun oven it don't need to face direct to the sun at any angle but does need to have the shadow directly behind the box which shows the direction of the sun.
This oven is amazing. Easy to set up and use. I have done three dinners in it, and it performed as advertised. Brisket is probably my least favorite meat, so I experimented with it first, I didn't care if it turned out or not. It turned out so wonderful, even my husband who is from Texas said it was the best he ever tasted. Love the sun oven! Anything that doesn't require fuel (other than the sun) is awesome in my book! Great for any SHTF situation, power out, camping etc.
Shipping was great and it came fast. I'm still getting to know my oven. I sliced some tomatoes from my garden to dry, set up the oven and when I got home from work, my tomatoes were sun dried. I will say even in Albuquerque we have some overcast days so the second time I dried tomatoes, it took 2 days......but I still didn't need to watch them since the temp only needs to stay between 110 to 150 for dehydrating. I bought a basic Sun Oven over 25 years ago and am still using it. I got the new one for one of my friends. He loves the oven and tries to use it every weekend since he works long hours during the weekdays. We live in Arizona and by cooking outside, the heat stays outside. The interior of the house stays cooler and the A/C unit doesn't have to work so hard. The new features which include the thermometer, siting capability, cooking racks, and pans are great. I just wish they were included when I bought my oven decades ago!
I've had my Sun Oven for several years. I used it like a crock pot a lot, but now I'm learning how to bake and make other items in it. I love it
Great product.....everything came as promised, in excellent condition. I have already used it to make baked pasta with sausage, and it was good. I use the oven primarily to cook foods that require a lot of boiling, like beans. Dry beans get done within 3-4 hours in the sun oven and that keeps the smells and steam from the beans out of my house.
