My husband and I have been in Sun City Texas since June 2020. There is a lot to love about this community BUT if you are moving here to be closer to your grandchildren and enjoy spending time with them, please be aware that this is not a grandkid-friendly community. For instance, outdoor pool hours for visiting grandkids are restricted to two hours per day (from 11 a.m to 1 p.m.) and no child under the age of 4 can be in or around a pool. We relocated to Sun City a few years ago, and honestly, I wish I had been more informed about the community’s management before making the move. The facilities are exceptionally well-maintained, and the golf courses are equally impressive. However, if you’re an early retiree, perhaps in your 50s or 60s, you might feel more akin to a convalescent center than a retirement community.
