Awesome location, comfortable lodge, great breakfast spread. The staff are incredibly friendly and make this place feel like home away from home.
Had a great stay here. The owners are great hosts, delightfully friendly and cheerful, even Ilin the early morning! There's a small park for kids, badminton and ladder ball. The only drawback is the train tracks that are very close by.
Do not camp here!!! I pulled into this campsite at 4:30 this afternoon (Sunday, August 9) and it's now 11:30 pm. It's been hell. I was concerned right away that the campsite is beside train tracks, but the proprietor assured me that only "one or two" trains go through per day. Outright lie. I can tell you for a fact that a dozen trains have gone through ALREADY. It's crazy. I can't sleep and I have a long day of driving ahead of me tomorrow. I don't know what I'm going to do. Very beautiful, very clean!
Spent close to a week camping at SRL and can say that Terry is a first-rate host. The campsites are excellent - super clean and well maintained grounds. Loved being next to the creek, and the highway noise is minimal. The train is loud no matter where you are in Valemount, but traffic is minimal overnight. The view of Mt Albreda behind the lodge is something to see. We will stay again on our next visit!
