Law regarding boarding schools are non existent. Staff arent required background checks, lawsuits can only be filed if fatal. Watch the john oliver on it if you're too "busy" to research your facility that will be hosting your child.
I spent a year at Summit. When I left, things at home were much worse than they were previous to attending Summit. While at Summit I was never provided the time to re-connect with my family and work on what needed to be worked on. Instead, I was told that if I didn't follow the terms of what the school said I could say, that I would never leave. My child attended this school, I hadn't seen the large amount of backlash over these reviews. Looking back there were many red flags I should've taken notice to.
They excel in taking advantage of parents who are worried for their children well being. A lot of deceit is used to rationalize the parents decisions. If I could I would have looked for another institution
unless you want to turn your child into a sneaky manipulative felon, don't send them here. this place doesn't help kids, it only teaches them how to lie to get out sooner and how to be more sneaky. seems strange that its considered a "non-profit" when all they care about it money. yes, there are a few staff that do care about their job, but most of them are only there for the money and to try to deal with the problems in their lives by being condesending and rude to the students.
