As always my app't. went very well.
We have started karel on lantus 10 u and stopped the 20 mg of gylpizide daily, kept the 1000mg metformin bid. Since his stroke late nov 20th? His glucose has been out of control. First we upped the glyizide from 5 bid to 10 bid that did nothing his glucose rus from 200s to high 300 s daily, so then we went on dezcom an excellent idea and switched to lantus starting at 10 units that also did dent the high sugars.
