I live in Gladstone but needed to take my dog to Bundaberg as the Sugarland vet provides 24/7 care and care, they do. After 4 nights in intensive care and another 4 nights in hospital he was able to come home, sadly he went downhill and after 4 days was rushed back to Sugarland. After taking his bloods it showed that his organs were closing down, I asked if we pumped him full of antibiotics or something would he get better, sadly. Lovely vets and vet nurses, however, not experienced enough with horses. They are now advertising vet care for horses however, on 2 occasions I have had a less than positive experience. Firstly, my beautiful boy Jack was misdiagnosed with a corneal ulcer, we were prescribed chlorsig at 89 dollars a bottle and directed to use it for a week. The vet came back out to have a look and then decided to do an eye stain test, the eye staining should have been done before diagnosing anything! Staff were very helpful. But the vet I saw was I felt more concerned about money and cost of services. Blood test I got done was $283 for barely 20mins of doing. When you are on the pension that's is ridiculous. My bill came to over $700. I was there for about 1hr. About half hr of that was waiting. Not impressed
