AMAZING pastries - went every day on vacation for a morning treat (parking can be challenging)
A great hidden gem in Tahoe City that I keep coming back to. Been making my way through their pastry lineup over the years - pecan sticky bun, croissant, cinnamon roll, maple bar - and somehow I always end up right back at the orange morning bun. There is just something about it. The staff is warm and the vibe is totally casual and relaxed, very Tahoe. There is usually a short line but it moves quickly and if you snag one of the few outdoor seats you have basically won the morning. A must-stop whenever I am up in Tahoe City.
The pastries and coffee drinks are great! The breakfast burritos and bowls were not. Potatoes are dry and the eggs are terrible. Not freshly made. Very disappointing. I'll stick to the caramel brownie next time.
What a joy to stumble upon this gem! If I lived in the area I would make it here as often as possible. We just happened to be driving through and stopped for coffee. When we walked in they were full out jamming to Prince, it was pure joy. Everyone was so happy and you could taste it in the food. The menu and display case looked amazing, I opted for the apple Danish and my husband had the pistachio donut. They even had honey water for coffee, my favorite!!
