All around unpleasant experience. Their business model is borderline unethical and revolves around tank rental fees and delivery fees, not the sale of propane. The nicest thing I can say about Suburban propane is that their staff are pleasant, and they sound exasperated trying to explain their processes and make excuses for the company they work for. I was told upon signing that there would be no equipment fees and that the propane rate would be the average for the area, come to find out they charged me a rental fee, inspection fee, transport fee, safety fee... Then they fill the tank and send you the bill, you will need to know the price until they fill which was 2½ TIMES the price that anywhere else in my area was charging per. Then when I called to cancel, a year and a half ago, they left the tank and then charged me a MINIMUM charge for not filling the tank saying 5 ... read more

I recently had Suburban come out to install a tank. The worker, Mike, was just wonderful. He found a leak when he was trying to pressurize the tank. He worked for 2 hours making the needed repair and making sure it was done right. I was his last call and I'm sure he wanted to go home. He made sure the leak was fixed and all my gas appliances were working. This guy is a credit to Suburban propane.

When we signed up for service through Suburban! We signed up for monitored service(98% positive) come to find out it's on will call. I ran out of propane called on Saturday morning to have some delivered. Was told it's a $250 delivery fee not including the propane. Outrageous! Forget it. Called Monday to get it delivered payed my bill of just short of $300. Then was told it will take 7-10 business days to be delivered! Of course it's 20⁰ this week and no propane. This will be my last full tank with yall. When it's empty come... read more
