My mother arrived after 7 wks in the hospital and the ambulance drivers were was asked why was she brought there. I don't know why we were sent to this particular hospice, we just followed the ambulance.We were told they were not taking people. We stood there thinking they were going to turn us away. They finally accepted her. We were not treated compassionatly. We felt so unwelcomed. My mother was not treated gentle. She had a broken back from a fall and found out she had cancer on her spine. Every single staff member we came in contact with was compassionate, concerned and very caring. My mother was there for 9 days and we could not have asked for anything more. They were gentle with my mother, always asking if there was anything they could do for us.
