Stuff Etc...I miss you! I have been to Stuff so many times, finding something to take home everytime. They are a little more $, but much nicer than any consignment store I've ever been to. I now live in California & miss Stuff. I make it a must-do trip everytime I come back to visit. Check out the basement...always awesome deals!!!

Stuff - a consignment store that is NOT all it is cracked up to be Although the basic idea behind the Stuff Store is an excellent idea, the actual prices, quality of products, and money you make as a consigner are not all that great. As a buyer, you can expect to find prices above those you would usually find in a consignment store, so the only way to find good deal is to shop only on the big sale days. You Get What You Look For I have read the five reviews for this store; of them two were extremely pleased and two others vehemently dissatisfied. I am a consignor at both of the Iowa City Stuff locations and the Coralville spot, and I would like to submit my two cents. Stuff, etc. in Coralville is right by the mall (which is right by the interstate) and is the best known of all their stores. Dishonest & Rude Beware- Do NOT sell your items here I took 2 large trash bags of clothing (high end designer) to Stuff in Coralville + a sewing maching (also high end) I normally sell on Ebay, but I have been too busy. Guess how much I made ? Are you ready? $11. Here is the breakdown. I got $1 for my sewing machine (that isn't even possible- they don't sell sewing machines for $2, so how did I get $1?) Higher prices but better selection Some of the complaints other people have listed are valid. The prices are high, if you're comparing them to thrift store prices. But keep in mind that thrift stores get their items through donation-- nobody has to get paid on the other end, so the full price you pay goes to the store. You have to consider the consigner's end of things. Taken for a ride- Dishonest First off let me tell you as a customer I was happy with stuffs, good deals never had a problem. I even haggled once on a dresser and got it for half. But then when I went to stuffs to sell my wireless modem, a box of clothes, and 20 books everything changed. I checked on my things weekly, every weekend. Things looked good for me. Stuff Etc. Stuff Etc. is a great place to take your used items to have them sell it for you. Stuff etc is also a great place to shop for used items, you can find some great items in there for a good price! A+
my 2 cents While they organize everything fairly well, yes, some prices are too high, as if they don't realize what price is new. I don't like that they implemented a different split 60% Stuff/40% consignor. I'm not sure about the honesty of "donated" items. I think the consignor should be able to claim the deduction for something they took but didn't sell, or give it back (they will charge for that, too) I have found stained and damaged items on their racks, yet turn down nice items I bring in.
