I saw Dr. Stewart, and he exhibited almost every red-flag we teach vulnerable people to look out for in medical care. He demeaned my concerns, started the meeting by explicitly saying I would have to convince him that my symptoms were valid, presumed a privileged upbringing then was confrontational when I suggested this wasn't my experience, and actively ignored information I was giving him. I had an appointment for a long-standing stomach issue that has been affecting me for ten years. The nurse was incredibly helpful, conducting the initial checks with care and accurately relaying my information to the doctor, especially since my condition is not very common. Dr. Watkins was also very attentive—he thoroughly examined me, patiently listened to my symptoms, and asked precise questions to fully understand my situation. I had a very disappointing experience at Western University’s health clinic. I had an appointment scheduled, but the doctor (Dr.Proctor) kept me waiting for over 40 minutes past my appointment time without any explanation or updates. I had to leave because I couldn’t afford to be late for work. To make matters worse, I was informed that me leaving would be considered a "no-show"—despite the fact that they were the ones who wasted my time. My overall experience with the clinic was disappointing. Out of multiple appointments I had, nearly all of them were unhelpful. There was only one instance where I actually received proper assistance. That being said, I do want to acknowledge that one doctor was kind and professional, which I appreciated.
