NYU doctors hold your prescriptions hostage. Don’t go to this doctor - he is just looking for opportunities to charge your insurance.
I have been a patient 20 years before he started at NYU. His level of care and commitment when Im in my appointment is outstanding. But the level of care has dteriorated in some ways. 1.5-2 hour waits. Its months to see him or his PA or a nurse. I see Urgent Care more than him quite often. The level of communication has also greatly deteriorated. For important issues...I have to resend messages. When Im in his exam room, its great. He couldnt be a better. But the rest is quite troubling to a patient of 20 years.
VERY DISAPPOINTING. After a fourth month wait to get in, I finally had my first appointment set with Dr. Haber today, but after waiting for over an hour past the appointment time, I had to leave. The receptionist had no idea what time Dr. Haber would be available to see me, and she said this is the usual for him. During that hour of waiting, I did however have a nurse check me in, and she was so distracted, she kept forgetting to put my information in. No words to describe the care and kindness that Dr. Haber possesses. He is truly such a phenomenal doctor full of intelligence and experience. I had a very rough medical scare and he provided me with all the information I needed to feel better equipped handling it. He closely followed my symptoms even after my appointment with him. 10/10 doctor. He will answer any and all of your questions thoroughly!!
It was better when he was in the West Village. Now you have to have your hand scanned just to get in the reception area. It’s so regimental it’s like being on an assembly line. You’ll have to wait months for an appointment
