Our kitchen sink was clogged, and Jonathan Stroup did a great job finding the problem, cleaning out the pipe, and checking to be sure it was completely cleared before leaving. He kept us informed about his approximate arrival time, as well as what was needed to clean out the pipe. He cleaned up his work area, and when presented with the bill, we were pleasantly surprised that the cost was considerably less than we were expecting. I have known this family for over 30 years. Recently, with changes in their management, we called for a service request. The plumber came to the house, did not give an estimate (just the hourly rate), started the job and then said he needed to come back the next day with additional parts. This was to replace a 3" piece of pipe, an hour at most. He charged for 3 hours, which included an hour sitting in his truck doing God knows what. I've been a happy customer for over 10 years but I was very disappointed with the charges for my recent service. I had 5 components replaced (3 PVC T joints and 2 angle valves). I did not mind arriving 15 minutes late and was happy with the quick work replacing the 5 components in the first hour. Then I asked about an estimate to proactively replace PVC joints in the crawlspace and I was ready to give them the job.
