Very disappointed, multiple defects that remain outstanding still 2.5 years post handover with no assistance from Stroud!
Don’t build with Stroud. Worst experience of my life. I could’ve built a better house. The Leading Hand - Pete is basically still an apprentice, had no clue what he was talking about. Really worrying watching someone build your house who’s literally learning how to do basic carpentry tasks. Not what I paid for. They need to scrap him quick, he’s giving the company a bad rep. He be better suited as an carpenter.
We also had a very bad experience with this company. We purchased a sloping block which we knew would be a challenge to build on. They assured us they were the right builders for the job. We gave them our wishlist and budget. After we had paid the deposit they started drawing plans - some way over budget some just did not fit on the block. This went on for 5 months and still no plan that would fit on the block or be passed by council. They then asked for more money to continue. We’ve spent the afternoon with dear friends who sadly chose to build with this disgraceful company who cannot keep a promise, or stick to the rules that this company set. There is no communication. Promises are broken. Laws and building codes are ignored. Plans are disregarded. Our friends are devastated by the way they’ve been treated and ignored.
