Great for a walk or ride or just an appreciation of the environment
We went here after we had been to the main part of The Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne. We actually wished we had had our picnic here, as it was much quieter. We loved the gardens, but I do love an easy hike and a bush picnic ground. This part of the park was unexpected. We went for a walk and spotted deer, kangaroos, wallabies, and an echidna. An easy and peaceful walk. Can be as long or as short as you need. The Stringybark Picnic area has picnic tables, toilets, q water fountain, ample maps and signage, and a decent carpark. It is much quiet than the Woodland Picnic area, albeit much smaller and less suited for children. The walking tracks are partially shaded in bushland and partially through open grassy areas.
