Peaceful resting park just beware of homeless sometimes.
Straus Park is a nicely landscaped, tiny oasis located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, at the intersection of Broadway, West End Avenue & 106th Street. It features a bronze statue, dedicated to Isidor & Ida Straus, who died on the Titanic.
I lived on the corner of W 106th st. Years previously I had walked past to get to the 103 th st station. I never knew the history. I had a quick brunch there yesterday. Clean and quiet. Not too many homeless people. Couriers usually take a moment to have a break and bus operators sometimes block the Broadway view if there’s too many Arctic buses. Dog owners clean up after their pets and there’s ample trash cans with foot peddles. Most clear up after themselves. Nice for a coffee and a quick breather.
Straus Park has a 4.4 star rating with 242 reviews.
Straus Park is closed now. It will open at 9:00 a.m.
