I promised to write this review 2 years ago, and because they did such an amazing job and I got into business school, I am just now finding the time to do so (fellow grad schoolers will understand)! I literally would not have gotten into any of my chosen schools without Stratus Prep. GMAT coaching with Jim helped me raise my score by 100 points, and Shawn and Samantha were enormous aids, helping me focus and articulate my goals and providing an actionable roadmap to reach them. They are very knowledgeable about the particula... read more

Stratus Prep was great for me. I used them as b-school app consultants, and the fact that it wasnt capped by hours took a lot of pressure off! Also, my consultant had a plan of action, which gave me confidence that I'd be able to submit all the apps i wanted in the rounds I wanted to. The peace of mind in knowing youre following a methodical path is worth it!

I decided to use Stratus after talking with two of their previous clients and speaking with Shawn O'Connor over the phone for 30 min. I was confident enough to go forward with the investment but still was a bit hesitant. Good graduate school counseling isn't cheap at any reputable company so I was worried I'd pay and not get much out of it. Or equally bad, that they'd provide too much guidance and the application would not be mine. I can say neither was the case. To start, Jeff Mroz, my counselor, assigned me introspective e... read more

I had a very positive experience working with Stratus for LSAT prep and law school admissions counseling this past year. My admissions counselor was clearly invested in my success, and did an excellent job of tailoring her advice and strategies to my background and personal experiences. Can't express how satisfied I am with the results of my application cycle. I was fortunate enough to be admitted to Cornell, Duke, UVA, Michigan, Berkeley, Penn, and Columbia, where I'll be attending in the fall. Stratus Prep played a pivotal... read more

I had the chance to work with Shawn and Vanessa at Stratus Prep last year on three applications, Wharton, HBS, and GSB. I applied for both HBS and GSB in Round 1 and was planning to apply to Wharton for Round 2 but was accepted to HBS before finishing and decided to accept. Quickly on my background. My GMAT was 730. I worked two years in consulting at McKinsey and then launched and worked on my own company for three years prior to business school (two years at the time of my application). Overall, I was extremely satisfied w... read more

With the invaluable help of the admissions advisors at Stratus Prep, I was admitted to the school of my choice, the Stanford GSB. Given the extremely competitive business school admissions environment and my generic profile, as a white male working at a large investment bank, I quickly realized the importance of having the strong and capable admissions consultants in place to provide counseling and support with the crafting and framing of my story to the various schools. The advice I received from Shawn and other counselors ... read more

I had a really incredible experience with Stratus Prep, specifically with Dan and Michelle. Dan was my LSAT tutor who helped me advance from practice tests which were ~162 to 175 on the real LSAT. My counselor, Michelle, was truly exceptional. She is a Harvard Law graduate, and I won't hold it against her, now that I'm going to Yale :). Anyhow, she helped me with every stage of the application process and gave me really wonderful advice and feedback on my essays. I am truly thankful for her. This spring, I found out that I w... read more

I made the decision to attend law school a few years ago, and because I worked in education I assumed that I would have some insight into the process. It didn’t take me much time to realize I had no idea what I was doing, so I did some research and found Stratus Prep and decided to take them up on the 30 min free consultation with Owner/CEO Shawn O’Connor. By this point I was jaded by the preparation process and was very hesitant to spend any money especially after I had taken a Kaplan prep course and didn’t see much improve... read more

I registered for Stratus Prep's Law School Admissions Counseling, and it made a huge impact on my law school applications. Shawn and Michelle guided me along every step of the process, from choosing schools and LSAT advice to polishing essays and negotiating financial aid. One of the most challenging things about the application process is presenting your strengths and credentials so that they shine through in your essays and make you stand out from the rest of the candidates. Shawn and Michelle helped me with this, and as a... read more
