I have been avoiding leaving a review because I really wanted to leave a glowing review. I hired Startton to build a patio with a pergola and retaining wall, a play area with rubber mulch for my son and redo part of my front yard with stone and landscaping. Most of the project came out looking pretty good even though it all took longer then expected. We hired Sam with Stratton over a year ago and paid for design services for a planned deck, with the understanding that the payment could go towards deck construction. They took months longer to deliver initial designs and then even longer for revisions. We were patient and agreeable throughout. They then cancelled on us, never delivered any plans, nor responded when asked for a refund on the $2500 we paid. Worst experience.
Company does not stand behind their warranty. We have attempted to contact them multiple times regarding dead tree and shrub they planted and that they started have a one year warranty. No response from anyone at this company. It took them over a month to repair damage they caused to our fence during their installation. The first project, a driveway drainage project went really well and was completed in a timely fashion. Communication was excellent. SOOOO, I hired Sam for a more extensive patio project. I hired and paid Sam in MAY 2025 because of my first positive experience. The project began well. However, it is now September--4 months later. The project is not finished. Sam & Stratton Landscaping is by far the most unprofessional contractor I've ever had the misfortune of working with. Sam disappeared once the contract was signed and was unavailable to help resolve various frustrations that occurred during the project. At the end of the day my drainage problems are worse now than before Stratton implemented their "solution", and I can't get a response from anyone at the company. Do not contract with Stratton. Sam won't give you the time of day once he has your cash
