Mis-information It seems as if insiderpages has their information wrong. Kara doesn't work for strands any longer she has her own private studio and Stacia owns Pomegranate salon. Polly works around the corner at Vita Dolce and their salon has a different layout, Ina doesn't work here either. A few years back the salon was called Tangles. Strands has new owners and stylists ,so just thought I would clear up this confusion !
Worth going I've been having my hair done by Kara (color, cut) for two years and she is fantastic: professional, creative, follows your instructions, and eager to work you in when you have scheduling problems. She's worth the money. The owner doesn't know how to run a business and the front desk is hit or miss, but I don't go there for them, and they've never caused me major annoyance.
I don't know about the rest of this place, but Kara is AMAZING! I've been getting my hair cut here for about 6 months. I have short crazy hair that is really easy to screw up, but Kara has not let me down. There is a group of 5 or 6 girls I know who get our hair cut by Kara. Recently, she went to the Vidal Sassoon Institute in LA to learn the latest and greatest cutting techniques.
Ian does a great job I've had my hair cut with Ian numerous times. He's always been really easy to schedule, friendly, and gave me great cuts. Yeah it's a little expensive, but it was usually worth it compared to similar salons in the Bay Area.
What terrible people they have working there. Don't waste your time. My mother in law recently went there and was treated terrible. These people do not know how to run a business or treat customers. I am sure there are some good stylist that work there, but the one we dealt with was beyond rude and the receptionist was no better. What a bunch of pre-madonna's. Don't waste your time or money. There are plenty of other places that treat you better.
You can get this type of service for half the price elsewhere I had my eyebrows waxed, a haircut, and highlights. To begin my experience, the girl working at the front desk was very unwelcoming and disorganized. Polly did my eyebrows. She was extremely snotty, but did a fantastic job on my eyebrows. Stacia, one of the owners, cut and highlighted my hair. She was nice, but didn't quite make me feel at ease during my first visit. She tried juggling me with two other clients, and at the height of her stress, started snapping at... read more
Ok for a quick cut I'm still a little unclear as to why they call themselves a "salon spa" because I didn't see any spa treatments that are offered. This is a small business where all the stylist are crammed into about 2 rooms. If this is your first time there expect to be given to a newbie. They are also a bit expensive.
