This is Straight Wharf Fish, not to be confused with their main restaurant Straight Wharf Restaurant! SWF is to the left of their main restaurant and is more casual. They offer a seafood counter for fish to go, cooked food to go, and a sit down dining area. It’s smaller but they had space for us to walk in. Right on Harbor Square, steps from the water, and the setting matches: casual, bright, paper lined baskets and butcher paper, but with proper cutlery and real plates. It manages to feel relaxed without feeling careless, which is a hard balance and exactly right for a long lunch after being out by the harbor. The oysters were the revelation. I've had oysters in Paris and these were on another level entirely, briny and clean and full of flavor, served simply with a sharp mignonette so nothing gets in the way. Warm lobster rolls were tasteless; lobster didn't taste fresh and was overpowered by brown butter and shallots. Would not recommend. Blackened swordfish sandwich and scallop roll were good. Inside seating was quite noisy. Outside seating limited to parties of 4 or fewer (we were 5).
