I rent a unit a month ago and I declined the insurance. In application that will say the insurance will be charged later on even if your declining. When I receive my invoice for the second month that at the insurance and they tell me that they cannot remove it unless I provide private insurance for this unit. For me this is a big scam. I call and to be honest they're not very polite. They just tell me I can move out if I don't want to pay the insurance.
