My Mom had a wonderful experience at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island hospital! The care she received was exceptional! We were so impressed with how quick the response time was by the staff when the call button was pushed. The staff at every level was kind, caring, patient and professional. They went out of their way to make my Mom’s extended visit comfortable. Mom appreciated some of the staff’s humor and detailed explanations. I never thought I would review a hospital but I had to do this one. I’ve been going to ELIH sporadically since I’ve lived in Greenport 20 years ago. And I’ve had experiences ranging from bad to okay to good. Unfortunately, this morning, I had to go to the ER again at 3 AM- 9am. Every single staff member, Nurses, doctors, radiology, and reception, they all treated me amazingly. Of course it was a horrible time for me, but they all were nice and receptive and understanding. Dr. Garber is the literal embodiment of why medicine in general has such a bad name in this country right now. Petty, malicious, incapable of providing decent treatment. Literally overheard (by the entire ER hall) yelling at a nurse “I’m a good person, not a nice one!!!” She failed to include… also not a good doctor. And she’s not the only bad apple there. If you speak to 90% of people in this small town, they all advise you to steer clear of this hospital. WAY clear.
