Years ago Stones "used" to be the gold standard for an old school gym where people go for a serious work-out. Now? New(er) ownership decided to go for the run down Anytime Fitness look and feel. Just looks and feels cheap.
Weights were rusty. Place smelled like sweated in underwear. I did not enjoy.
I 've worked out in many gyms for the last 40 years and this gym is one of the best I've ever been to. The owners, trainers, and members are all very nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I moved to the area about a year ago and checked all the area gyms before joining. The rates are very fair, especially since it also incudes some group training classes.
After over five years of being a paying member, I was kicked out because another guest started a verbal altercation with me and then they started throwing around legal threats. And what did this gutless management team do? They banned me. The victim. Let me say that again: someone instigated an argument with me, threatened me, and then got scared and started talking about lawsuits… and instead of handling it like professionals, this joke of a staff booted me to avoid dealing with any actual conflict. Read the latest review and honestly couldn’t wait to share my own experience. The owner's response really rubbed me the wrong way. It came off as defensive and out of touch probably written by the owners wife who is known to be extremely rude and unprofessional. Not only did they misidentify the person who left the review, but they also twisted the situation completely, likely because of their own personal/political beliefs.
