Very good happy hour – If you can do happy hour early on a weekday like my wife and I did by all means try it. There was a mix of age groups in the bar which filled up fast. The club vibe that others have complained about wasn't there, food and drink were great and the prices very good. My wife enjoyed the innovative specialty cocktails, I had the cold sake. Only downside was the use of fake crab (and even those were tasty, just not as much) but stay with tuna only rolls, otherwise we were thrilled with the experience.

Great location & great sushi – Their special rolls and flavored sakes are delicious! I love the atmosphere here, and the decor is very cool. The servers could be a little nicer but maybe they are rocking the Scottsdale vibe.

Terible service – Terrible service! Two friends and I experienced the worst customer service at this restaurant. We were served wine in dirty glasses with lipstick marks on them. When we brought this to the attention of the bartender, she did not apologize, instead she poured the wine from the dirty glass to a clean glass and brought it back to us. When we asked her for a fresh glass, she loudly mimicked our request, made fun of us and laughed so loudly that everyone sitting at the bar heard her.

Poor Service and Overpriced – Sushi is my favorite food and somewhat of a hobby. I have been to Stingray 3 times since I moved to Phoenix and have no plans to return. Their rolls are mediocre at best and the service is beyond poor. All 3 times there was a long wait without a happy ending. During my last visit we waited 30 minutes (shortest of all 3 visits and not that bad) only to be placed on the patio beneath a heater that did not work. It was just over 40 degrees that night and windy. We waited quite a while just for wate... read more

MOST EXPENSIVE SUSHI ON THE PLANET – We wanted to have a great, creative Sushi dinner. What we got was an atmosphere which was RAVE Club Music Loud! Those frequenting are in their 20's and screaming above the music. The waitress doesn't say hi, just takes the piece of paper and at the end of our meal, drops down a $115 bill! One tiny portion was $29 for tuna!!! Other rolls are very expensive, too. You'd think we would have had a lot of alcohol - Nope, we each had a Saki Bomber. I would NEVER return to this restaurant again. ... read more

One of my most memorable dining experiences ever..... – I was in Phoenix on business and my hotel recommended Stingray Sushi. We made it to the restaurant just in the nick of time before the sky opened up and started pouring, so we settled in for some delicious sake and started checking out the special rolls. Just when we were about to place our order, the lights on the block went out and the place went pitch black. Instead of shutting down and throwing us out, the owners insisted we stay and recommended a few specials (sans... read more

Where's my Japanese Sushi chef? – I had lunch at Stingray the other day and, perhaps I'm a purist, but the non-asian behind the sushi bar kind of caught me off guard. In a traditional sushi bar, one orders a sushi order, eats it, and then orders another -- even better, let the sushi chef serve you the freshest fish he has to fit your palate. At Stingray, I was given a piece of paper and asked to write down everything I wanted and give it to the chef. In their defense, the yellow tail was tasty and well presented.
