Great place to have boat work done -- mechanical, paint, metal, fibreglass
Avoid this yard if possible or at least be aware of the negatives, including numerous instances of boats that were dropped from the sling, prep for bottom paint that damaged (gouged) the hull or depth transducer, fires (!) after electrical installations, and more horror stories. The yard location is convenient and that’s it. If you do your own work it’s probably still ok (as long as your boat isn’t dropped!) As always, the work done has been outstanding. Bow rail repair, paint, and varnish. Boat looks new even though she is 23 years old!
The staff was very helpful, and especially Tina, Oh my gosh, with all the questions I bothered her with she was helpful above and beyond, with all her knowledge! I am closer now to purchasing a boat and looking forward to keeping it there. I’m curious what bottom paint would cost for a 42 footer if anybody has any ideas ? Do painters generally strip it down to the bare fiberglass to get the job done correctly? Thanxs ! Robert 😊
