A wonderful talented and caring doctor. He explained everything about my procedure, did a great job on a complex procedure, and provided wonderful follow-up care. I atrongly recommend him for your spinal surgery needs.
I went to see Dr. Mcanany for a second opinion prior to getting Microdiscectomy surgery for an L5/S1 herniated disc. Starting with my initial phone call to get on his schedule, I found the entire staff to be extremely professional. I read prior reviews referencing poor experiences with Holly, that was not my experience at all. Facility is state of the art and is run very efficiently. Unfortunately I had the same experience as a few of the other people who wrote poor reviews previously. I saw them and was willing to give the benefit of the doubt, so I booked an appointment with Dr. McAnany yesterday and today I got a call from Holly for a pre screening. She was awful, so awful I immediately canceled my appointment, no one has time for that and should be treated that way, even if the doctor were to turn out great. Rudest office staff ever. My rating is exclusively for Holly since I never saw the doctor. My first call to gather more details was more of an interrogation than a pleasurable conversation. I shook it off because I wanted to see this doctor. Heres the best part. I live 1.5 hours away. I left an extra 20 minutes to give additional time. After dealing with numbness and tingling in my leg for a few years I decided enough was enough. I first tried epidural shots with a doctor at HSS which after 3 shots did not help at all. I was referred by this doctor to Steven Mcanany to talk about my options. Dr. Mcanany was a straight shooter and told me that shots aren't going to fix my problem and that the herniated disc in the L4-L5 needed to be stabilized to get it off the nerve.
