Stereo Stereo is a throwback, in the best manner imaginable, to the glory days of brick & mortar hi-fi shopping. Michael, the owner, is so accommodating and down to earth it’s like visiting a friend’s listening room. There is no pressure, just listening to the tracks of your choosing. A true delight in the days of Amazon and “big-box” hi-fi dealers/manufacturers.
I came in with a specific set of requirements, and Michael was able to make appropriate recommendations right away. He explained why certain speakers I had in mind might not work, and then he suggested excellent alternatives. This is a guy who loves talking about music and how best to listen to it. From the moment I called the day before my visit, the experience was exceptional. Michael was welcoming, knowledgeable, and provided top-notch customer service. I mentioned my interest in auditioning the Wharfedale Super Lintons, and when I arrived at the store the next day, everything was perfectly set up and ready to go. This place is amazing and Michael is wildly knowledgeable and very welcoming. He could teach a college class about this stuff and is a joy to talk to. I learned a ton in the 30-45 minutes we were there and would only consider buying something like this from him as a Pittsburgh local.
I recently visited Stereo Stereo to audition some Audeze headphones, as they are one of only two authorized dealers in Pennsylvania. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by Michael, who provided immediate assistance in setting up my laptop so I could demo my own audio mixes at their headphone station.
