So I did the inpatient in Payton Utah as well as the day treatment (php) and the night classes (IOP) and I’m currently continuing in the aftercare program. I have been to quite a few treatment centers and Steps stands at the top of all. Their therapist and faculty genuinely care for their clients and tell them what they need to hear, not necessarily what they want to hear. Close too close tightly spaced living quarters with no way to the required classes each morning miles across town. The classes were dim dull oppressive and poorly staffed. except for 1 or 2 real people (Kym was awesome) upstairs at the front desk no resources for real life needs. Front desk and my intern case manager were friendly and helpful. Somewhat but in the end just another huge meat grinder. I don't usually comment, but I feel it's important to warn others—Steps is NOT the place for recovery. It took me 10-12 rehabs over three years to get clean, and Steps was hands down the worst. The classes were absurdly long, sometimes lasting 2-3 hours without a break, and the counselor, Camille, was constantly on a power trip, belittling clients daily.
