I just recently completed my 5 year post op follow up visit and I am so blessed to say I am cancer free! Dr. Kang and his staff were phenomenal. I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. They were caring, compassionate, observant and highly professional. The high quality of his work has restored my confidence.
Let me begin by saying there aren’t enough synonyms for wonderful in the world to describe Dr. Stephen Kang and the excellent care he (and everyone else) took of me at The James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State! I am blessed to say I am three years out from the partial glossectomy Dr. Kang performed and have NO evidence of cancer. Dr. Kang removed an artery and vein as well as muscle from my arm to build a working tongue for me, and then he had to take a skin graft from my leg to cover my arm. Going through head and neck medical issues is incredibly stressful, but Dr. Kang provided amazing treatment and comfort. I was blown away when they handed me a detailed treatment itinerary during my very first appointment—it took away so much of the anxiety of the unknown. He and his office are highly organized, and all communications with them and other departments and providers were perfectly seamless. 4 years ago I met Dr. Kang for the first time, he was the first to tell me that I had throat cancer. That day marked the beginning of an arduous journey for me. It was determined that my treatment would primarily involve radiation and chemotherapy. These worked and after about 2 months I was cancer free and have been ever since.
