Dr Southerland put in a new hip with anterior approach. I'm writing this review from the hospital bed so I can't say how it's performing yet. I got right up walking and the pain relief is unbelievable. I'd always go to rebound for orthopedics and if see dr S if I ever needed the other hip done. 19 months later, the hip is still doing well. I have been doing a lot of hiking and backpacking, backcountry skiing, kiteboarding and biking with almost no pain in the hip. When facing a major surgery there are always a million questions to be asked. From the first appointment with Dr. Southerland thru surgery he and his staff were there to support me. They give you a great handbook of expectations, held a step by step on-line clinic and you leave the surgery center equipped to succeed. In addition they are there to answer questions along the way. While in the hospital for hip surgery, I was treated like an honored guest, truthfully. Everyone was so patient and sympathetic to my pain, doing everything possible to assist me in managing the pain and making me as comfortable as possible. Dr. Southerland was so helpful with my pain issues. He listened and did all he could to help me through this.
