This man freaking put his finger to his mouth and shushed me while I was explaining the current behavior of my child. Even though I was extremely confused and felt disrespected, I wanted to help my son. I took him there for a little under a year before we had a long talk and he asked me to please not take him back and he did not want to be on the medication or see these strange men.
I've been with Dr. Steffek for years. He's helped me understand that I I had some helpful and hurtful coping mechanisms because I was not diagnosed early in my life. He is a doctor that listens unlike doctors that just throw a prescription at you and think they know what's best for you.
I started seeing Doctor Steffek in 2003 for “ADHD” I was struggling in school and my parent reached out for help. He put me on an ADHD med. I was not sleeping at night after i started the meds. So he prescribed Seroquel. My parents knew nothing about this medication and it should have been a red flag when he was literally just handing it to us and we didn’t have to go get it filled at the pharmacy.
