The pistachio latte was amazing as was their house made sourdough bread.
Back in Kankakee and was excited to revisit Stefari but found they’d moved locations and changed menus. What happened? Love some evolution of a restaurant but it seems like Stefari had a distinct feeling/identity and is now incredibly confusing and frankly playing a different role. Unique and will probably do well because of its uniqueness in Kankakee area but food is underwhelming and misses the mark. Was in a couple weekend ago for the first time and loved everything. Such a warm and cozy vibe. The staff is super friendly, patient and attentive. My matcha was amazing and the breakfast was amazing. I'm still dreaming about the beet toast. I can't wait to try more thing soon.
Updated 8-21-26- the Summer Beet Toast is fantastic! And I love that more options (mine too) have arugula included!! We love recommending Stefari West to our tourists at Frank Lloyd Wright's B. Harley Bradley House. I like the new location and atmosphere, but the high ceilings make it noisier than the old location. Our service was very good. I liked the cucumber pistachio salad, but I think I would have enjoyed it even more with some arugula added or even salmon to create a more entree style dish.
I snapped a photo at my table to check calories. An app I use found this place for me during my break. The chicken tacos had plenty of protein and fit my daily count well. The restaurant is clean and quiet.
