I would tell people NOT to stay here! We made reservations well in advance off the website for the weekend of 08-10 August 2025. A ‘cottage’ was all they had so we reserved it. They charged a ‘cleaning fee of $30.00’ on top of the cost of $199.00 per night. The ‘cottage’ was dirty! The floors were filty, there were food crumbs on the floor in the kitchen, under the table hasn’t been cleaned or any floors washed in a very long time due to what we found. Beach location is lovely, but that is where the positives end. Do not come here. It’s sad to see how much it has fallen apart under new ownership. Almost every beach chair is cracked down the middle, making them unsafe to sit on. The cabins are close to uninhabitable, which is completely unacceptable for the prices being charged. Upon entering the cabins, you will be hit with the smell of gas leaking from the old stoves. Everything in the cabin is stained, ripped, and just plain old. Highlight was a mouse in the kitchen cupboards who helped himself to our food 🐭. This place is absolutely filthy, run down, and uncared for. Stains on everything, spider nests above the beds, strong smell of gas in all cabins, and broken furniture in and outside. To summarize the concierge services, we didn’t get sheets on our beds and when we called the owner he suggested we go to the laundry room and get them ourselves (we did; the laundry room was filthy and in disarray too). This place is on a beautiful piece of property. Nice beach, as many people in Tawas has lost their beach. It has tremendous potential!!! The cottages are dirty and not kept well or upkeep. Family spent half their first day CLEANING. Called family coming up the next day to bring up blankets to put over the dilapidated furniture and rugs for the questionable tidiness. Wish them well, but family will not be ever going back, unless new owners buy it, bowl-doze the cottages, and build new or at least a complete overhaul.
