accepted our deposit money and indicated a late fall dig, increasingly infrequent communication. Once spring hit and he had our deposit. Told us fully custom build, but with wausau you are limited to what they can build in factory and delivery on a flatbed. Kept getting the run around. Talks a big game until he gets your money and then leaves you high and dry. Bert Steckbauer accepted $30k and signed a contract to build a home for my father in August of 2022. Unfortunately he passed away in June 2021. The build was cancelled prior to any materials being ordered and within the contract allowed cancellation window. Bert had agreed to refund the deposit months ago, but instead has gone “elk hunting” and largely avoided contact with us.
