In my opinion, the merits of my claim were not adequately represented and I was charged over 10000 dollars in fees. The attorney did not respond to my emails in a timely manner. After 4 weeks, I still did not have the contact number to the guardian ad litem, yet I was charged correspondence fees. Total correspondence fees were in the thousands of dollars. 0 stars I am filing this complaint against the law firm Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor for what I believe to be unethical conduct and unfair billing practices.- I retained the firm for a custody case and paid over $6,000 in fees.- Despite this, no court date or mediation was ever scheduled, and my case saw no meaningful progress.- When I decided to end representation, the firm charged me $1,445 just to withdraw, despite not achieving any substantive results.- After withdrawing, they added nearly $400 in additional charges, whi... read more

■■ BE CAREFUL WITH THIS FIRM. I hired this firm for my divorce and felt like I was overbilled and underserved. After they reviewed my finances, I believe they structured billing in a way that depleted what I had. I paid thousands, then was assigned an attorney I didn’t choose.
