My realtor had me contact Paula to prequalify for a home loan. Paula went above and beyond to sort through my surprisingly complicated credit to get me my loan. Paula was a great problem solver. She never made me feel badly when things were complicated. She has a great attitude and was super helpful. She was genuinely excited for me when I got a house and made sure everything was ready to go. I really enjoyed working with her, and I have recommended her to two coworkers already.

I like Bill Barnett at Stearns Lending. My husband likes Bill, too. My father-in-law, my mother-in-law, my neighbors, my husband's co-worker Steve, and Steve's mom--everybody likes Bill. Bill is just a very likeable guy. All that being said, what you want in a mortgage broker isn't likeability, though that doesn't hurt. I have a mortgage with this company. Another company, with which I do business, needs verification information from Stearns Lending. Thus far, 4 weeks have gone by and Stearns has been unresponsive to me and to the other company. Soon I will file against them for damages.
