We have been working with SEAD for over a decade on numerous projects- big and small. The level of knowledge, care and communication is very high. Admittedly, they do get busy at different times of the year- but its always worth the wait.
In early 2020, after months of making no progress with another firm on our goal of designing our residential build in Steamboat Springs, we were to the point of setting the project aside completely when we were referred to SEAD. We worked with SEAD in 2022 to do a complete renovation of a 3-story home in Clark looking over Steamboat Lake. We completely gutted the inside and added 800 sq/ft Master Suite, Entry way, Pantry and extended the Kitchen. This included widening existing hallway and new doors, trim, windows and flooring. SEAD did the structural engineering for my new home here in Steamboat and they delivered an excellent set of plans in a timely manner at a fair price. They communicated well and worked with me and my general contractor closely to meet my goals.
Although their engineering may be fine, the company is untrustworthy. Our association hired SEAD to engineer a rock replacement around our chimneys. Empire Works failed to perform the work as outlined in the drawings provided by SEAD. We have photographic evidence and a third party written assessment. However, because SEAD advised the work was done in accordance with their drawings, we had to pay approx $80k to have the work redone correctly.
