1950s diner fries up fast-food classics 24 hours a day. – In Short Entering the clean, bright interior is like stepping into an "Archie" comic book. Hurrying across white- and black-checkered floors, staff in crisp white shirts and paper hats take orders, polish chrome and shuffle between booths and the full-service counter. Middle-American diner standards dominate the menu--pickle-covered steak burgers, chili cheeseburgers and thick shakes. Healthier options include chicken, chef and taco salads.
Good fast food – Steak and shake has some pretty good fast food. We ate here a couple of times. On our last visit, I had a steakburger, fries, and a strawberry shake. The steakburger was delicious and filling. The fries were so so. The strawberry shake was very good and thick. We ordered our food to go..but we talked with the chef and the waitstaff while we waited, they were really nice and made some good suggestions when it took me awhile to decide what I wanted to order. Also, our food was prepared pretty quickly.
