Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Steer clear. They continue to say that our mortgage is late when it is NOT. After Covid they purchased our loan that was in modification with PHH. They bought it only in July. They reported it as being 120 days late last month and now they reported it 180 days late when in fact, they haven’t even OWNED IT THAT LONG! I found that Statebridge Company reported a discharged debt as late on my credit report (post discharge). Perhaps your legal department needs a refresher, bankruptcy laws prohibit a creditor from reporting a discharged debt as late. A discharged debt can NOT be late – ever. So if a creditor reports a late for a date AFTER your bankruptcy FILING date, and certainly post-discharge, dispute it. I don’t even want to give 1 star. I received a letter called and actually talked to probably the rudest person, he basically said you pay or else. I have tried to call this company for 10 business days in a row and stay on hold for 30-35 minutes and than the phone cuts me off. How can I pay the debt if I cannot reach anyone. I plan on calling a lawyer in the morning to protect myself and my property. How can this company ask me to pay a large amount without answering any calls so I can resolve this. I purchased my home on 10/30/2020. The company I worked with completing this loan was excellent. When the loan was sold to a servicer the first mortgage was sent to Mr. Cooper with no issues and the second Mortgage was sent to State Bridge. We received a bill in the mail shortly there after for the payment that was due for the second mortgage with State Bridge. Quite frankly 1 star is too many. Sadly my mortgage was sold to them 2 months ago and both months that i wanted to try and set up my online account and make a payment have been a problem. Last month after several attempts I made a payment by phone and they did not charge me a fee. This month again I cant sign on and they want to charge me a fee by phone so I will just have to do it by mail. They are rude and very difficult to deal with and would rather wait for a check in the mail than get payment today.
I wish I could give them negative stars. This company is a joke and I have no idea how they stay in business. If you have the unfortunate luck of being their "customer" you can file a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau. Go to: www.consumerfinance.gov You can also escalate your complaint within Statebridge (who knows if this part does any good, they are so grossly ineffective, but we should do it so they have a good paper trail of their constant ineptitude).
