We had 5 yards of "Topsoil" delivered in May. We placed it in various places in our yard to fill in eroded areas and put the extra dirt in the wetland area. We have attempted to seed the areas multiple times with very little success. The dirt does not have the rich appearance of topsoil it has the appearance and consistency of fill dirt. Even in the wetlands where we have aggressive growing brush, vines, and weeds, the area we put the dirt is very bare. I have been buying my Cedar mulch from State Crushing since 2003. The mulch is of high quality and is consistant from year to year, and they have a large selection of other types. Their prices are the lowest I have found in the Troy area. Another real plus is they have large trucks that can deliver up to 20 yards of mulch for a single delivery charge while most others can only deliver up to 10 yards. Their drivers are very good and can drop the load exactly where you want it.
My experience with State Crushing was great. Great selection of products especially the mulches. I liked the wood fines which is a triple shedded hardwood. The people that I came into contact were very helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company.
They sell some mulches but did not have a very good selection. I had the mulch for one season and it all disapated and lost color. It just looked like dirt. I wasn't very happy.
