Once upon a time, this company was easy to work with and easy to contact. I recently tried to get information on what was covered in my policy and it took 6 months and involving my state insurance commissioner to get a response. No response was ever sent to me. The response to the insurance commissioner was condescending about me. And I want to emphasize again, they never responded to me. Avoid this worthless company. There are other options and much less patronizing of their customers.

As dental healthcare professional don’t recommend this insurance. It takes more than 60-75 days to process dental claims. Provider relations useless. We probably no longer accept it!!!
My husband and I did not sign up for this policy but somehow they started drafting monthly from out account. We suspect the insurance agent we used a while back set it up without our knowledge perhaps for a commission or bonus of some kind. I tried calling to cancel the policy and request a refund for the unused and unsolicited plan. The customer service rep wouldn’t speak to me simply because I was the wife. I have had Starmount/Always care dental/vision insurance since January 2017. I had payments set up to debit my credit card each month. Back in December 2018, had a compromised credit card and had a replacement card sent. Overlooked contacting them them with the new card information. February 11th 2019 I receive a notice that my insurance has been terminated. I call the 888-729-5433 contact number on February 11, 2019 and was told they sent me a USPS letter in January. I had a dental claim, date of service 10-9-18. After numerous calls and sending in claim 3 times, it has yet to be paid. Last call to them was 1-9-19 when claim was supposedly processed during the call. As of 1-17 website was showing no claims in the last 24 months. Now I cannot even access our account on website. Due to an expired credit card of employer, Jan. premium was not paid....but instead of paying it, we opted to just cancel. I'll probably end up having to pay my dental visit myself. Do NOT use this company!!!
Ever since my husband’s employer purchased a policy, my life has been hell. If your employer announces you have a unum- statmount plan, you best buckle up because it’s going to be one hell of a terrible ride.

I have now filed a complaint with the BBB. Horrible customer service. Today I spoke with someone named Sharon who had a horrible attitude and continuously interrupted me as I tried to explain my situation. Everytime I call, everyone has an "oh well, I don't care and can't help you" type of attitude. I work at a dental office amd would always refer pts with no ins here, after today that will no longer be happening.
