THANK GOD the old owner sold this place! He was a major league Richard Cranium who treated his employees like slaves. The NEW owner is SUPER NICE and the staff loves her too cuz she treats them like family. The food is top notch and they offer discounts for military/veterans. They now have Hawaiian Buns on request for their sandwiches. I definitely recommend them for their pulled pork! If you stopped eating here cuz of the old owner, like I did, you can come back and have a clean conscience.
I bought 1lb of brisket, coleslaw, and cornbread. Usually my food and experience here are very good and I never have any issues. This time the meat was very tough and dry and seemed sort of like it was a leftover, not sure what happened.
The Big Sexy Burger was by far the best thing on the menu. The brisket was cooked to fall apart perfection. The pulled chicken was also juicy and tender. Their in house bbq sauces (original, sweet and hot) were matched with their in house seasonings! I will definitely come back for the food!
Beware, they put hot sauce in their mac and cheese. They let me swap it out with mashed potatoes which were soupy and disgusting. I ordered a fountain drink when I sat in and asked for one to go and they said we don't normally give them to go but we will this one time.
Wow - truly phenomenal barbecue! I ordered (take out) the 1/4 lb each of burnt ends, pulled pork, and brisket, with a side of fries. They threw in two different bbq sauces and cornbread. First - I swear they gave me at least 2 pounds of meat. Second, everything I got was just fantastic. There’s a lot of middling barbecue out there and this place ain’t that.
